Francis Joseph Gagnepain IV began his career as a full-time, freelance artist in 1989. A prodigy of sorts, Joe was doing life drawing as early as sixth grade. He began high school in St Charles, IL and finished at the Chicago Academy for the Arts, an independent preparatory high school for the performing and visual arts located in the River West neighborhood of Chicago. He studied Fine Art the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in the 1990s.
Joseph is a lifelong resident of the Fox River Valley in Illinois, and has two children, Logan and Hannah. His fine art and commercial work adorn homes and businesses, both interior and exterior, throughout the Fox Valley. His sculptures, which he creates from found materials, occupy places of significance in outdoor spaces throughout the community and beyond.
